Christa Bowers, 90, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 5, 2016.

Born Dec. 13, 1925 in Germany to the late Albert and Antonie Piosek, she came to the United States in 1948 and lived 40 years in Columbus, Miss., before moving to Dawsonville in 2002.

Along with her husband, she owned and operated Roy's Kitchen in Columbus. Christa possessed a very positive attitude and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dahlonega Ward and had twice served as president of the Relief Society.

Her husband, Roy Jackson Bowers, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Sid Dewberry of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Roy A. and Sherie Bowers of Dawsonville; three grandsons; 13 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Mrs. Bowers was taken to Columbus, Miss., for funeral services and interment in Friendship Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
