Charles Robert "Robbie" Sharp

Charles Robert "Robbie" Sharp, 70, of Dawsonville, died Saturday, April 11, 2009.

  

Born in Kansas City, Mo., he had lived in Dawson County for the past 26 years, having moved from Atlanta.

  

Mr. Sharp was a graduate of Northside High School and attended and played football for Georgia Tech and Furman University. He built and flew Ultralight airplanes and was an entrepreneur whose most recent venture was Sharp Signs, located in Dawsonville.

  

Survivors include his wife, Gay Sharp of Dawsonville; sons and daughter-in-law, Charles "Bob," Jr. and Kelly Sharp of New Orleans, Tommy Sharp of Cartersville; daughter, Karen Lynn Wall of Duluth; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Becky Sharp of Eatonton; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol Warner of St. Simons Island, Cindi and James Avery of Charlotte, N.C.; a number of grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.

  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dawson County Humane Society or to your favorite charity in Mr. Sharp's memory.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
