Charles Carroll Castleberry, 85, of Forsyth County, died Feb. 12, 2012.

He served his fellowman in many ways and wanted the best for them.

Carroll served on the Forsyth County Board of Education for 12 years, AG-GA Farm Credit for more than 40 years, the Forsyth County Planning and Zoning Board for two terms, the Forsyth County ASCS Board for nine years, the Forsyth County Farm Bureau for numerous years, the Forsyth County Hospital Board for eight years, the Georgia State ASCS State Committee for two terms, the GA Farm Bureau Poultry Advisory Committee, the Forsyth County Board of Equalization and the FSA County Committee for Dawson, Hall, Forsyth and Lumpkin.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Florene Castleberry of Forsyth County; children, Wade and Vicki Castleberry, Cathy Grindle, all of Forsyth County; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Chris Grindle, Kyle and Kim Grindle, Justin and Julie Castleberry, Allison Grindle, Sam, Eli, Isaac, Cooper, Slade; brother and sister-in-law, Olen and Mary Ruth Castleberry of Forsyth County; sister and brother-in-law, Hilda and Royce Bennett of Dawson County; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Salem Baptist Church with the Revs. Shad Faulkner, Bud Sutton and Clark Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Feb. 15 and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Feb. 16.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming is in charge of the arrangements.
