Cathryn "Cathy" Cooksey, 76, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 24, 2011.

 

Born April 24, 1934 in Memphis, Texas to the late James and Pauline Knox, she lived in Dawson County for the past 5 years, having moved from Camarillo, Calif.

 

A homemaker at her death, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who possessed a great love for music.

 

Her husbands, Don J. Morren and Richard L. Cooksey; and stepfather, Earl "Slim" Alexander, also preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Lynda Cooksey, Danny and Teresa Cooksey, all of Dawsonville; sister, Pat Sinclair of Carrollton, Texas; granddaughter, Trista Tenney; great-grandsons, Taye Wilburn, Kyan Wilburn; various other relatives also survive.

 

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. April 16 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeffrey Brookshire officiating.

 

The family and friends will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. until the service hour.

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
