Carl Hyrns

Carl Hyrns, 79, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 5, 2015.

Born Oct. 1, 1935 in Winter Haven, Florida to the late Oscar and Harriett Hyrns, he had lived in Pickens County since 2008, having moved from Gainesville.

Mr. Hyrns worked for 18 years as a cook in Kissimmee, Ft. Walton and Orlando, Florida.

Until his retirement he was employed at the High Hope Service Center in Lawrenceville. Carl was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

An accomplished singer, for many years he sang in bands in Florida.

His son, Butch Hyrns, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Evelyn Hyrns of Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Pam Price of Austin, Texas, Donnie Price, Darrell and Tammy Price, all of Dawsonville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

A visitation in celebration of his life was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 9 at the funeral home.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
