Dawson man arrested as part of historic drug bust in White County
The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office called the recovery "the largest fentanyl seizure ever made inside of White County," according to a Sept. 29 press release.

Carey Poole, 48, of Gainesville, died Oct. 26, 2015.

Born July 18, 1967 in St. Petersburg, Fla., he had lived in the area for the past 30 years.

Mr. Poole was a former marine mechanic and was also a master plumber.

His father, Sam Poole, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Newsome Heaton of Dawsonville; sisters, Debbie Poole of Cumming, Chelsea Womack of Wedowee, Ala.; brother, Adam Newsome of Ball Ground; nieces, Leah Van Dora, Sonya Patterson; nephew, Myke Pumadera; special aunt and uncle, Kathy and Tommy Allen; various other relatives also survive.

The family is planning a private memorial.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
