Calvin Monroe Samples, 74, of Cumming, died Dec. 10, 2011.

He was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church.

He loved to farm, fish and hunt.

His parents, Alvin and Odessa Samples, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Samples; daughter, Martha Rose Ann Samples; son, Calvin Wayne; daughter, Beth Samples; daughter and son-in-law, June Ann and Brian Castleberry; brother and sister-in-law, James and Shirley Samples of Dawsonville; sister, Lola Mae Boyd of Buford; sister, Martha Givens of Buford; two step-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Shadburn and Emory Samples officiating. Interment followed at Roanoke Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
