Burma Mae Parks, 75, of Forsyth County, died Sept. 6, 2013.

She was the oldest member on the board of directors of Georgia Highlands Medical Center, voted "Outstanding Woman of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta" and volunteered at The Place and as a chef at Cedar Hill Retreat Center.

Her husband, James Parks; son, Johnny Dewey Parks; and parents, Johnny and Carrie Mae Waits; preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Holcomb; grandchild, Sheneia Parks; great-grandchild, Anneliese Turner; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 9, in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joseph Curtis Holcomb IV officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
