Bronscile “Tommie” Bennett, 85, of Dawsonville, died March 12, 2011.

 

Born April 18, 1925 in Bartow County to the late Erby and Leilabel Stephens, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. For many years, along with her husband, they owned and operated a poultry farm after which she was employed as an insurance agent for National Consultants Inc. where she was their top salesperson for more than 10 years in a row.

 

Tommie had been active in many social and community clubs and activities and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

 

Her husband, Lyman Bennett; and a brother, Erby Stephens Jr., preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Lynn Nahlik, Marla and James Lemley, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Brandon Nahlik, Eric Sheffield, Kaycee Nahlik; great-grandson, Andrew Sheffield; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 15 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Dr. Orin Sampson and the Rev. Eddie Herring officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
