Britney Nicole Cardenas, 28, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 11, 2016.

Born July 19, 1988, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Britney was a 2006 graduate of Dawson County High School and was a 2010 graduate of North Georgia College where she earned a degree in early childhood education.

She was currently employed with the Head Start Program in Dawson County.

Britney always tried to help every child she came into contact with and enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.

She was a member of Tickanetley Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jose Cardenas of Dawsonville; stepchildren, Caden Cardenas, Amber Cardenas, both of Cleveland; mother and stepfather, Candie and Wendell Parkey of Dahlonega; father, Donald Bearden of Dahlonega; grandparents, J.B. and Polly Bearden of Dahlonega, Jenell and Robert Pruett of Dawsonville; brothers, Shawne Bearden of Cumming, Corey Henry of Dahlonega, Tyler Bearden of Ellijay; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jose Luis and Sandra Cardenas of Murrayville; sister-in-law, Chelsea Cardenas of Murrayville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Paul Mooney and the Rev. Troy Milford officiating. Interment followed in the Tickanetley Primitive Baptist Church in Gilmer County.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
