Brett Bentley, 58, of Dawsonville, died July 10, 2017.

He was the son of Ms. Addie L. Barnes Bentley and the late Farrell Goode "F.G." Bentley.

He attended Douglas County High School. Brett was a self-employed builder. He owned his own business and built horse barns and arenas for more than 20 years.

Brett was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and spending time with his children.

His father, Farrell Goode "F.G." Bentley, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Addie Barnes Bentley of Fayette, Ala.; son, Noah Tristan Bentley of Marietta; daughter, Nicole Faith Bentley of Dawsonville; brother, David Eric and Debbie Bentley of Campbellsville, Ky.; sisters, Cynthia Lou and Edwin Stanton of Daphne, Ala., Brenda Kennedy of Sarasota, Fla.; various other relatives also survive.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. July 15 from Bentley Family Cemetery in Fayette, Ala.. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CJD Foundation, www.cjdfoundation.org.

Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Ala. was in charge of the arrangements.
