Bonnie W. Garner, 84, of Cumming, died July 16, 2012.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church Cumming for 50 years and currently served as the chairman of the deacon board.

He also was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years.

He was a corporal in the United States Army serving in Korea as an army engineer.

His wife, Effie Garner; grandson, Kevin Garner; stepson, Charles Edwards; stepdaughter, Rachel Jackson; brothers, Nay Garner, James Garner; and a sister, Latrelle Holtzclaw, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Nelson and Harriette Garner, Kenneth and Linda Garner, all of Cumming, David Garner of Oxford, Wayne Garner of Dahlonega; twin sister, Bunnie Dishroon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. July 18 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Sam Rickett, Alan Swafford and Mark Bottoms officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on July 18.

Flowers are accepted, but the family sincerely asks that donations be made to Second Baptist Church of Cumming, c/o Eric Kimbral, 1880 Doc Bramblett Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
