Obituaries

Billy A. Wise, 75, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 8, 2018.

Born March 29, 1943 in Hemingway, S.C. to the late James Thomas and Anna Ruth Wise, he lived in Lumpkin County for the past 5 years having moved from Garden City, S.C.

 Mr. Wise owned and operated BW&Me for over 40 years until his retirement.  He possessed a deep love for Jesus and was a very devoted Christian family man.  He also enjoyed western movies and ice cream and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.

A sister, Margaret Elaine Wise Teal, and a brother, James Thomas Wise Jr., preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy J. Wise of Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Scott McEver of Dawsonville, Christy and Tommy Lewis Jr. of Sumter, S.C., Lezlee Detscher of Canton, Honey and Josh Bray of Cumming; grandchildren, Rick and Corey Detscher, Zack and Madison McEver, Madalynne and Patrick Long, Kari Detscher, Mason McEver, Thomas III, Raven Lewis, William Nicholas Detscher, Sammy McEver, Kati Jane Detscher, Matthew Bray, Olivia Bray, Tucker Bray, Rachel Bray, Judah Bray; great-grandchildren, Norah Detscher, Cohen McEver, Sadie Detscher, Tatum McEver, Elijah Lewis; sisters, Marion Hoch of Garden City, S.C., Von McElveen of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Geri Storm of Garden City, S.C.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 13 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.  Interment followed in Sawnee View Gardens.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
