Billy Crane, 83, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 29, 2011.

 

Born Oct. 7, 1927 to the late Dock Sr. and Annie Crane, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

 

Mr. Crane owned and operated Crane Auto Parts and attended Mill Creek Baptist Church.

 

His sisters, Fanabell Stephens and Mardell Greenway, also preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mildred Crane of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Lynda Crane of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Mark and Amanda Crane, Ashely and Johnny Trammell, all of Dawsonville; great-grandchildren, Breanna Crane, Braden Crane, Isabella Trammell, Tanner Trammell, all of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marell and Lane Bailey of Dawsonville, Monnie Chester of Royston, Vera Mae and Marvin Davis of Gainesville, Annette Anderson of Jasper, Frances and Charlie Baughcum of Lavonia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl Dean and Marjorie Crane, Loy "Sonny Man" and Linda Crane, Dock Crane Jr. and Anita Womack, all of Dawsonville, Eugene and Ruby Crane of Duluth; special caregiver, Debra Banta; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Rodney Pilcher, Cecil Reeves and Lee Ayers officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
