Billy Brooks, 90, of Cumming, died March 25, 2017.

He was a member of Cumming Baptist Church.

Billy was an Army veteran who served in World War II in the Philippines and in Korea with the occupation troops.

He was the owner and operator of Brooks Garden Center, which originated from his father's store that was known as C.H. Brooks and Son's General Store.

His wife, Betty Brooks; siblings, Joe Brooks and Nell Bramblett, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Leigh Brooks of Roswell, Danny and Jody Brooks of Dawsonville; sister, Mytris Styles of Marietta; grandchildren, Ashleigh Brooks, Kelsey Brooks; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at Cumming Baptist Church Chapel with the Dr. Barry Crocker officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to Cumming Baptist Church Building Fund, in memory of Billy Brooks.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
