Betty Jane Magnus Morabito, 87, of Dawsonville passed away Aug. 20, 2020.
Betty was born on Feb. 26, 1933, to the late Jim and Ruby (Conner) Magnus. She grew up in Dawsonville alongside her sister and brother. Betty attended Dawson County High School where she played basketball. After high school, Betty married and moved to Atlanta. She had a long career with Abbott Laboratories in Atlanta. A few years after retirement, Betty moved back to Dawsonville where she was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She loved cooking, sewing, arts and crafts, gardening and animals, especially her cat, Miss Kitty. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Ann O’Kelly; her brother, Brice Magnus, her husbands, Jack O’Kelly and Frank Morabito; and her sister, Bertha Magnus Skinner.
Betty is survived by her brother, Bill Magnus of Dawsonville; stepdaughter, Audra Morabito Robinson (Sam); nieces and nephews, Jim Skinner, Gloria Skinner Coker, Terry Skinner (Shirley), Billy Magnus (Julie), Misty Magnus Smith (Jeremy) and several great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church in Silver City.
