Betty Blanche Boone Abbott, 77, of Cumming, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009.

  

A foster parent for many years, Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Church of Christ in Ripley, Ohio.

  

She was a lover of gardening and birds and enjoyed traveling.

  

Survivors include her husband, John Abbott of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Gail Hall of Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Joseph Bruce of Cumming; grandchildren, Jonathan and Rhonda Hall, Christa Bruce, all of Cumming, Matthew Bruce, Candace and Eric Burger, all of Alpharetta, Amanda and Jason Holt of Marietta; great-grandson, Ethan; sisters, Ruth Herrmann and Thea Goecke, both of Ripley, Ohio, Pat Pyles of Maysvilles, Ky., Diane Boone of Ripley; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Regina Boone of Georgetown, Ohio; stepsons, Steven and Tabby Abbott of Dawsonville, Stanley and Gwinn Abbott of Canton; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Eubanks officiating. Interment followed in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
