Bessie Ray Crowe, 86, of Dawsonville, moved into the eternal arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 29, 2020. Bessie Ray was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Dawson County to William Wilson and Addie Elizabeth Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fannie Mae Neisler.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Crowe; son and daughter-in-law Ken and Lori Crowe of Dawsonville, grandchildren Mary Beth Crowe and Kim (Nate) Flowers all of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Ruby Dean Higgins of Cumming; in-laws Faye Swanson of Dawsonville, Jackie and Marie Johnson of Cumming, and Jimmy and Wanda Bruce of Dawsonville; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bessie Ray was a doting wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her family above all else on this earth. James and Bessie Ray moved from Dawson County in 1958 following their marriage to live and work in several towns around Georgia before returning in 1989 to build their retirement home. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Cumming and active in the Jimmy Moore Sunday School Class. Bessie Ray leaves behind a priceless legacy of faith and family values for all who knew her to cherish.

Out of respect for the health and welfare of our community, a private service will be observed by the family with interment at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming. Dr. Scott Gilbert and Rev. Ray Rhodes will officiate.
