Ben H. Voyles, 75, of Douglasville, died Jan. 22, 2011.

 

Born Sept. 9, 1935 in Dawson County to the late Lewis and Beulah Voyles, he had lived in Douglasville more than 20 years. Mr. Voyles retired from Jim Ellington Transmissions after more than 20 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.

 

His wife, Sible Voyles; sons, Thomas Voyles, Randall Voyles; sisters, Kizzie Mae Pruett; brothers, R.T. Voyles and Cecil Voyles, preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Benny Voyles of Dahlonega, Tim and Courtney Voyles of Douglasville; sisters, Lucille Evans, Lorene Perry, both of Dawsonville, Jeannette Howard of Jasper, Shirley Howard of Tate, Erlene Burden of Elberton, Wynell Morris of Jasper; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Jan. 24 at Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Flowers and James Pruett officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
