Barry Andrew Harness, 58, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 24, 2014.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a native of Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Harness was a self-employed carpenter, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.

His parents, Lawrence and Helen Harness, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Lawana Harness of Dawsonville; daughters, Jessalynn Harness of Dayton, Ohio, Andrea Howard of Dawsonville; brothers, Larry Harness of Jefferson City, Mo., Ron Harness of Novato, Calif.; sister, Karen Lett of Ocean View, Del.; grandchildren, Kalan and Lilyth Potter of Dayton, Ohio; various other relatives also survive.

Mr. Harness was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 15.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home of Cumming is in charge of the arrangements.
