Barbara Lee "Bobbi" Clarkson, 69, of Dahlonega, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009.

  

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

  

Mrs. Clarkson was born in Annapolis, Md. July 22, 1939 and had lived in Dahlonega for the past 33 years.

  

She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Dahlonega and worked for many years as school secretary and hospital unit secretary.

  

She was the daughter of the late Benjamin E. and June Townsend Bassford and was also preceded in death by her son, Jeff Clarkson.

  

Survivors include her husband, James T. Clarkson of Dahlonega; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Lynn Jones of Dawsonville, Jim and Angie Clarkson of Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Lorri and Thorney Mincey of Dahlonega, Wendy and Robert Wixson of Florida; grandchildren, Shannon and Craig Sexton, Rebecca Mincey, Channon and Brandon Clarkson, Kyndra and James Pollock, Nicole Jeffcoat and Alec Wixson; great-grandchildren, Cooper Sexton, Nicolas and Hannah Pollock; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Phillip Johns of Dahlonega; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben and Carole Bassford, Margaret Bassford Smith, all of Florida, Rick and Ann Bassford of Kentucky; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were 3 p.m., Jan. 17 at the Bannister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega with the Father Robert Frederick and the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating.

  

Interment followed in Dahlonega Memorial Park.

  

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
