Barbara Jo Townsend Daniel, 74, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 12, 2016.

Born April 10, 1942 to the late Charles and Dessie Townsend, she had been a resident of Dawsonville for most of her life.

Barbara Jo was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and worked as a custodian at Dawson County High School for a number of years until retiring in 2008.

A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed reading and playing games with her grandchildren.

Three children, Georgiana Martin, Nan Daniel and Joe Daniel, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Clifton and Jane Daniel of Dawsonville; sisters, Dot Sheffield, Ann Gee, both of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Lula Townsend of Cumming; son-in-law, Randall Martin of Cumming; grandchildren, Heath Martin, Dillon Martin, Christian Barr, Christopher Daniel, Caitlin Daniel, Kayse Redmon, Abbey Redmon, Libby Redmon; great-grandchildren, Easton, Grayson, Kyleigh, Harper; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 15 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dennis Bottoms, Rodney Pilcher and Danny Ray Martin officiating.
