Arthur Art C. Dover

Arthur "Art" C. Dover, 82, U. S. Air Force retired, of Dawsonville, died July 27, 2015.

Born May 19, 1933 to the late Roland and Nora Dover, he had been a resident of Dawsonville for more than 20 years.

A Vietnam veteran, he served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force Police, where he retired after 20 years of service. He was a proud member of VVA Chapter 970 and McKee's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Dover also worked with Dawson County at the cannery, transfer station and courthouse for a number of years. He enjoyed bluegrass music and square dancing.

His wife, Jodie Dover; and brothers, Ralph Dover and Herman Dover, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lanelle Dover of Dawsonville; daughter, Tina Dover Edwards of Smyrna; grandchildren, Meaghan Edwards, Amanda King, Jesse Guiterrez; sister, Lenora Murphy of Alabama; sister-in-law, Delores Dover of Dallas; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 1 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Chaplain Vic Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the McKee's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to VVA Chapter 970, P.O. Box 1205, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
