Arnold Hood, 82, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

  

Mr. Hood was born Sept. 9, 1926 in Forsyth County.

  

He was the son of the late Jepp Hood and Mary Martin Hood.

  

He worked in the sawmill industry.

  

Survivors include his wife, Jean Hood of Dawsonville; children, Delores Langford of Ohio, Brenda Woods, Linda Going, both of Ball Ground, Mickey and Greta Elzey, Pam Elzey, Tony Barber, all of Dawsonville, Lynn and Joey Lewis of Ellijay; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Cowart of Cumming; sisters-in-law, Nellie Hood, Bea Roper, Joyce Frix, all of Cumming, Sarah Hood of Oakwood; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Broughton Loggins, Jack and Brenda Roper, all of Cumming, Gene and Virginia Roper of Grayson; niece, Jerri Roper of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 22 from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Revs. Randy Roper and Rex Byrd officiating.

  

Interment was held in the Yukon Cemetery.

  

Bernhardt Funeral Home of Ellijay was in charge of the arrangements.
