Anna S. Parrish, 83, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 20, 2015.
Born Oct. 31, 1931 in Germany to the late Adam and Josepha Scherm, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 17 years, having moved from Jackson.
In 1954, Anna left Germany for the United States and after learning English on her own, she became a U.S. citizen.
She was a devoted homemaker dedicated to her family and was a member of Dawsonville Baptist Church.
Her four brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ken Parrish of Dawsonville; children, Kenny and Patricia Parrish of Columbus, N.C., Linda and Barry Bearden of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Brandon and Gina Parrish, Kayla Parrish, Kacie Bearden, Karlie Bearden; great-grandson, Joel Cox; brother, Albert Scherm of Germany; various other relatives also survive.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Bea4rden Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Eddie Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to Dawsonville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 935, Dawsonville, GA 30534 or Landrum First Baptist Church, 300 East Rutherford St., Landrum S.C. 29356.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
