Alvie Ray Clemons, 65, of Cumming, died Oct. 26, 2010.

  

Alvie was a retired Navy veteran from Benton Harbor Michigan.

  

In addition to being a Navy veteran, he also retired from Whirlpool in 1989 and moved to Georgia, where he met the woman of his dreams, Retha Joyce Clemons. The couple was married for 20 years.

  

Alvie was a loving, caring, husband, who loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

  

His wife, Retha Joyce Clemons; and brothers, Butch Buster and Terry Clemons, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his children, Scotty and Betty Clemons of Cumming; stepchildren, Penny and Tim Wilson of Cumming, Chris and Andrea Gilbert of Ball Ground, Dwight and Annie Gilbert of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Whitney and T.J. Wilson, Tommy Chadwick, Sara Nix, Taylor Gilbert, Ashley, Chuck, Allison, Michael and Abby Gilbert; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Rick Pugh; nephew, Bo Clemons of Benton Harbor, Mich.; best friend, Bill Page of Benton Harbor, Mich.; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 31 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Sammy Wright and Clyde Boling officiating.

  

Interment followed at 11 a.m. Nov. 1 in Georgia National Cemetery.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
