Alan C. Wade, 68, of Dawsonville died Aug. 6, 2014.

Born December 14, 1945 in Hall County to the late Marvin and Ruby Wade, he had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 10 years, having moved from Cumming.

Mr. Wade worked for many years in the pricing machine industry and retired from Belt, Inc.

Alan was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Viet Nam. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and formerly Midway United Methodist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Jean Wade of Dawsonville; daughter and son in law, Lauren and Chas Brooks of Bluffton, S.C.; grandsons, Britton Brooks, Braiden Brooks, Benjamin Brooks; sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Lamar Rice of Gainesville; a number of other relatives also survive..

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 16, at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Harwood officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Veterans Alliance, 2286 Seven Mile Hill Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
