Driver from Hwy. 53 fatal wreck identified by GSP
police emergency

State officials have identified a driver who was killed in a motorcycle wreck early this week as a 27-year-old Roswell man.

According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol, Kim Chevaschan was killed on Monday afternoon after his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree while traveling south on Hwy. 53 in Dawson County.

Witnesses of the wreck reported to GSP Troopers that Chevaschan lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating a curve in the roadway just north of Hugh Stowers Road, stating that the driver appeared to be going much too fast and was unable to slow down in time.

After leaving the roadway, Chevaschan reportedly struck a tree at the intersection of Hwy. 53 and Hugh Stowers Road and was ejected from the motorcycle, the report states.

On Tuesday, Dawson County Fire Chief Danny Thompson told the Dawson County news that first responders arrived at the wreck at 6:02 p.m. and found a motorcycle wrecked and fully involved in flames.

First responders reportedly found Chevaschan deceased at the scene.
