Dawsonville man, 5 others killed in Gainesville nitrogen leak

The six people killed Thursday, Jan. 28, in a nitrogen leak at Foundation Food Group have been identified by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

The six victims, five men and one woman, were:  

  • Saulo Suarez-Bernal, 41, of Dawsonville  

  • Jose DeJesus Elias-Cabrera, 45, of Gainesville  

  • Corey Alan Murphy, 35, of Clermont  

  • Nelly Perez-Rafael, 28, of Gainesville

  • Victor Vellez, 38, of Gainesville  

  • Edgar Vera-Garcia, 28, of Gainesville 

The bodies were transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for an autopsy.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
