The National Weather Service has issued an updated flood warning for the Etowah River in Dawson County that extends from this morning until further notice.

At 7 a.m., the river’s stage was at 14 feet, which is also flood stage, according to a Friday post on the Dawson County Fire and Emergency Services Facebook page.

Minor flooding is expected to occur upstream and downstream from the data gage near Ga. 53 east in the county.

Henry Grady Highway near Ga. 136 is now passable after it was flooded last night, according to an update from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.

DCN will update this story as more information becomes available.
