At the June 21 meeting of the Dawsonville City Council, council members recognized the city’s employee of the month, as well as two city employees who recently received promotions.
The city’s May 2021 employee of the month was Utilities Treatment Plant Operator Westin Lee. According to City Manager Bob Bolz, Lee was chosen for the recognition for the hard work he does in the utility department.
“Westin works in our utility department and like the rest of our utility guys does a fantastic job,” Bolz said. “We’re glad to have him on our team.”
Also during the meeting, council members recognized two members of the utility department for their recent promotions. Jacob Barr was promoted from utilities crew chief to utilities operation manager, a promotion which Bolz said has been beneficial for the whole department.
“Our Utility Director Gary Barr retired in September and since then our guys have been working one person short,” Bolz said.
Because of Barr’s promotion, city employee Blake Croft was also promoted from treatment plant operator to Barr’s vacated position of utilities crew chief.
All three city employees were recognized by the city council members as part of the council’s June 21 work session.
