During the March 14 meeting of the Dawson County Board of Education, board members voted to approve an architect and a construction management service for upcoming projects at Dawson County Middle School and Robinson Elementary School.

The upcoming projects at the two schools will include the construction of the Dawson County Middle School Fieldhouse, as well as a remodel and expansion of Robinson Elementary School’s kitchen and cafe.

Both projects will be paid for by the district’s ESPLOST funding, which the board previously approved at its Dec. 6 meeting. The middle school’s fieldhouse is expected to cost $1,800,000, and Robinson’s kitchen and cafe remodel and expansion is expected to cost $2,100,000.

During its March 14 meeting, the board voted unanimously to approve RLR as the architect for both projects and to sign a contract for construction management services with Carroll Daniel Construction Company for both projects.
