How to register for the Dawson County 2021-22 school year
DCS Registration 2021-22

With summer vacation coming to an end and the 2021-22 school year quickly approaching, it’s time for students who haven’t already registered for the upcoming school year to do so.

The process is available online for both new and returning students.

Returning students

For students already enrolled in the Dawson County School System in previous years, the registration process is extremely simple.

Step 1: Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal or use the code that was emailed to you.

Step 2: Submit an online registration through your portal and receive a confirmation “thank you” page at the end of the submission.

Step 3: Read and review the need-to-know information on the school system’s “Important Information” webpage at

If you’re registering a returning student and don’t have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account or a snapcode email, contact the student information clerk at your school. A list of each school’s student information clerks and their contact information can be found at

New students

Students wanting to enroll in the Dawson County School System for the first time must follow a few more steps than those who are returning, including creating a PowerSchool account and uploading scans of several documents.

Step 1: Create an online PowerSchool account by visiting the registration page. After creating a new account, users can complete online registration and have the option to upload required documents online.

Required documents for new student registration include:

  • Proof of Dawson County residency (such as a current utility address in the parent’s name with the service address visible or a purchase, lease or rental agreement)

  • Birth certificate

  • Social security card

  • GA 3231: immunization form with current shots

  • GA 3300: hearing, vision, dental and nutrition form

It is also helpful with student scheduling to have a past report card, transcript and any other relevant legal documents if they are available.

Step 2: After submitting an online registration, receive a confirmation “thank you” page at the end of the submission.

Step 3: Schedule an appointment with the district registrar. Appointments are only necessary if the required documents were not already uploaded online during the registration process. To schedule an appointment with District Registrar Tonia Bagwell, call (706) 265-3246 ext. 1035 or email The central registration office is located at 175 Tiger Circle and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Important things to remember for both new and returning students

For new and returning students registering for the 2021-22 school year, all parents must submit a signed affirmation that they have either received a copy of the student handbook and code of conduct, or that they have received instructions on how to access these documents online. The signature page must be signed, dated and returned to the child’s school.

Families without access to a printer can go to the child’s school to receive a printed copy of the document to sign or contact the school to request a copy be sent home with the child or mailed to the family’s home.
