Now that school is officially out for the summer, the Dawson County School System has started its annual summer feeding program to provide free meals to local students each day during the summer break.

According to a release from the school system, the summer feeding program began on June 1 and will run almost every weekday through the end of July. Students can visit summer meal sites to get a fully balanced, healthy meal, with different foods for each day of the week.

School meals are free to any student 18 or younger, but adult family members can purchase a meal for only $3.75. No paperwork is necessary to receive free meals.
