Last weekend, Dawson County High School tenth grader Bryce Beach represented Dawson County at a statewide FFA EMC agricultural electrical wiring contest, taking tenth place.

The state event took place on March 5 at the FFA camp in Covington, Ga. Beach competed as a member of the Dawson County High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) club after he placed second in the area event earlier in the semester.

According to DCHS FFA Advisor Keith Pankey, the challenging contest consisted of wiring an unknown electrical circuit, problem solving using the National Electrical Code and a speech demonstration on a given electrical circuit.

“Bryce placed tenth overall in a very daunting event,” Pankey said. “Bryce represented the Dawson FFA very well as a tenth grader after placing second in the area event.”
