This week, Dawson County High School student Bryce Beach won second place in an electrical wiring contest during a regional Future Farmers of America (FFA) competition.

According to DCHS FFA Advisor Keith Pankey, Beach is the youngest son of Chris and Vickie Beach of Dawsonville and is a member of the high school’s FFA chapter. As a part of FFA, he represented his high school during the North Region Area 1 FFA Agricultural EMC Electrical Wiring contest on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

"The electrical wiring contest consisted of wiring an electrical circuit from the service entrance panel all the way through,” Pankey said. “As well, the students have to take a problem solving exam using the National Electrical code and give an oral speech demonstration on a given circuit.”

Beach placed second overall in the regional event, and he will go on to represent Dawson County and compete at the state level on March 4 in Covington, Ga.
