Dawson County Schools to hold online learning due to winter weather, Lanier Technical College to delay opening

With black ice and winter weather likely in Northeast Georgia tonight and tomorrow morning, all Dawson County schools will have an online learning day on Tuesday, Feb. 16, according to a Facebook post by the Dawson County Board of Education. 

“Due to significant concerns of icy roadways, Dawson County Schools will have an online learning day for all students on Feb. 16, 2021,” the post said. “Full time virtual students schedules will remain the same.”

Also due to weather concerns, Lanier Technical College will delay its opening on Feb. 16 until 10 a.m. According to the school’s website, officials will be monitoring the situation and will adjust the schedule further on Tuesday if needed.
