Friday after school activities in Dawson to proceed as scheduled

UPDATE Jan 8, 2021: The Dawson County Board of Education announced in a Facebook post on Friday afternoon,  that county schools would not cancel or postpone any after school activities scheduled on Friday due to winter weather.

“Activities scheduled for Dawson County this afternoon/evening will proceed as scheduled,” the post said. 


Dawson County Schools will have an online learning day on Friday, Jan. 8, due to a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service. 

In a Facebook post by the Dawson County Board of Education, the school system announced that due to the winter weather likely headed towards Dawson County, all students will attend school online on Friday. Students who were already attending school online won’t be affected by the changes. 

“Full time virtual students schedules will remain the same,” the post said. “Twelve month employees report when safe to do so.” 

The school system will decide by noon on Friday whether or not after school activities will take place or not.
