Person killed in Aug. 31 Gwinnett County shooting identified as Dawsonville man

Authorities have released the name of the Dawson County man killed during an Aug. 31 shooting in Dacula, Georgia. 

Kenneth Stockton, 42, of Dawsonville was identified as the shooting victim, according to an updated press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department. 

At approximately 11:15 p.m, officers from GCPD’s East Precinct responded to a person shot call on Jona Trail in Dacula, the press release stated. 

Officers arrived on scene and found one deceased male with an apparent gunshot wound. 

Two males were reported to have had a confrontation before the shooting occurred, according to GCPD. 

The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.
