Atlanta man arrested after meth, cocaine, MDMA and other narcotics found during traffic stop
police emergency

Methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, Oxycodone and hashish were allegedly seized last week during a traffic stop in Dawson County, authorities say.

According to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson, Jonathan Walter Putnam, 42, of Atlanta, was arrested on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, after a traffic stop on Ga. 400 and Dawson Forest Road led deputies to discover multiple illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia in Putnam’s vehicle.

An incident report associated with Putnam’s arrest states that he was stopped at 2:15 a.m. on June 29 for allegedly failing to maintain lane.

Upon investigation of Putnam’s vehicle, deputies located 3.4 grams of methamphetamine, 5 MDMA pills, 6.19 grams of cocaine, 1.31 grams of crushed Oxycodone, 4.4 grams of hashish and 3 grams of THC wax, Johnson said.

Putnam has been charged with six counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, one count for possession of drug-related objects and failure to maintain lane.

He is being held in the Dawson County Detention Center under no bond.
