This month, North Georgia-based hospitality company Timberline Glamping Co. was honored at the Glamping Show - US by the American Glamping Association for Innovation & Pioneering.

According to a press release by the organization, North Georgia locals and owner-operators, Nathan and Rebeka Self, were humbled and honored by the recognition.

“The recent acknowledgement by the American Glamping Association proves that Timberline Glamping Co. is making a name for itself within the rapidly escalating travel market,” the release said. “While the Selfs continue to bring their heart for community to North Georgia, they are also expanding their vision to bring life changing opportunities to franchisees as well as more glamping access to seasoned and new glampers.”

Glamping is a concept that brings modern comforts to camping, allowing for a new way to spend time outside. These “glampsites”  include items like hotel-quality beds, clean sheets and comforter, air conditioning and heat, a mini fridge, coffee maker, home decor and electrical outlets to charge devices.

The Selfs launched Timberline Glamping Co. in 2018 and then launched the franchising portion of their business in August of 2021, making the company the first and currently only franchise company in the glamping industry. According to the release, the company has since signed 26 franchisees into their brand, including one in Dawsonville at Amicalola Falls State Park.

“Guests familiar and new to the Timberline Glamping Co. brand can look forward to experiencing unique getaways that combine modern comfort in the great outdoors with a trusted name,” the release said.
