After being open since the middle of July, Studio 28 Skin and Brows cut its Dawson County Chamber of Commerce ribbon, officially opening the business on Friday, Sept. 3.

Located on the historic, downtown Dawsonville square, Studio 28, owned by Courtney Waters, does facials, eyebrow waxing and tinting. Additionally, Waters plans to include microblading by the end of the year and hopes to add sugaring in the near future.

“Most people fall asleep during my facials, so I think they’re pretty good,” Waters said at the ribbon cutting.

Waters works by herself at the salon and said she hopes having a storefront will give her more exposure to eventually hire more employees and expand to potentially more than one store.

“It’s exciting to bring something like this to Dawsonville and provide these services,” Waters said. “There’s lots of traffic in this location. I’ve had a lot of people see the sign and book an appointment. Having a store makes me feel more legit.”

Currently, Studio 28 operates its business hours around appointments, but generally is open 12:30 to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Studio 28 is also open on Saturday from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m.
