On Thursday March 24, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, located at 16 Bethel Drive.
In a short ceremony preceding the ribbon cutting, Dawson County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mandy Power welcomed the owners and employees of the hotel to the community, thanking them for bringing a much-needed business to Dawson County.
“I cannot tell you how excited we are for the long-awaited cutting of the ribbon here at the Holiday Inn Express,” Power said. “We have needed and wanted something of this caliber, and we are so excited to promote it and to have Holiday Inn Express here in our community.”
Holiday Inn Express and Suites offers several different types of rooms with all the necessities and amenities guests need to stay comfortably away from home. The hotel also offers breakfast, coffee and a fitness center.
Dawsonville Holiday Inn Express General Manager Freddy Burch thanked the community members in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony, saying that he’s proud to be a part of the new business in the Dawson County community.
“It’s very dear and near to my heart to be recently appointed a member of this establishment; I’m honored,” Burch said. “And this turnout is wonderful — thank you.”
Neal Patel, one of the hotel’s owners, echoed Burch’s gratitude to the community, saying that while the process of finally opening has taken some time, he and his family are thrilled to finally open their Dawson location.
“It’s a great family business,” Patel said. "It took us long, two years, but it worked out very well and we’re glad to be here in Dawsonville.”
