An incoming weather system could bring a wintry mix overnight and black ice by morning.

Models indicate minimal moisture in the area is likely with precipitation expected to begin this evening and end by  2 a.m.

With temperatures expected to drop below freezing, rainfall could turn to a wintry mix after 9 p.m., though no accumulation is expected.

"Although the threat remains minimal, careful attention should still be given to this situation," said Dawson County Emergency Services Chief Lanier Swafford. "Black ice early Friday remains the greatest threat."
