The pool at Veterans Memorial Park in Dawson County will reopen to the public on Monday, June 8, with new safety and security measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a recent press release.
The pool will be open Monday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.
Social distancing will be required at all time and pool decks will have painted lines designating the required space for COVID-19 safety. Only the same housed families will be allowed in certain areas.
All pool handrails, tables and bathrooms will be wiped down hourly and indoor showers will remain closed. An outdoor shower at the pool will be open.
No chairs will be provided by the Dawson County Parks and Recreation Department, and no pool toys, floats or goggles will be handed out by staff. Patrons will be required to bring their own chairs, toys and floats.
“For the safety of all parties, please do not enter if you exhibit signs of illness, such as a fever over 100.4 F, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell,” the release said.
Pool employees will be required to wear masks at all times and will have their temperature taken upon arrival at work. Patrons will be encouraged to wear masks while at the pool.
Daily admission to the pool is $3 per person. Season passes are available for purchase at Rock Creek during regular business hours and online.
