Georgia State Patrol Post 37-Cumming is accepting gifts for the Marines' annual Toys for Tots drive.

Troopers will be at the Dawsonville Walmart from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 22 collecting donations and offering free car safety seat checks. The child does not have to be present, but it would be helpful to insure proper fitting.

Donated toys should be new and unwrapped for newborns to teens. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Checks can be made out to "Toys for Tots."

"Please come out and help us make a child's Christmas a little brighter this year," said post secretary Robin Stone.

Toys can also be dropped off from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the post, located at 4055 County Way, just off Ga. 400 in north Forsyth. Post 37 serves Dawson, Forsyth and Lumpkin counties.
