Three separate incidents involving child molestation and strong arm rape of a child were reported to the Dawson County Sheriff's Office in April, one concluding in an arrest.

In the first instance, a Dawsonville man was arrested April 9 and charged with two felony counts of child molestation and two felony counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.

The man, Santiago Lara-Arrellano, 38, was also charged with presenting false identification information.

According to Sheriff Jeff Johnson, Lara-Arrellano is accused of touching a child under the age of 12 in a sexual manner.

He is also accused of taking the child to his residence for the purpose of committing acts of child molestation.

Lara-Arrellano is currently being held at the Dawson County Detention Center without bond.
Fewer details are available about the two other incidents, which are currently open and active cases, according to Johnson.

The second case was reported April 18 and involved a strong arm rape.

According to police reports, a 13-year-old is accused of using force to rape an 11-year-old sibling.

The third case was reported April 21 and involved aggravated child molestation.

According to police reports, an 8-year-old child reported that a 7-year-old sibling had been molested by a "13 to 14 year-old" who is currently incarcerated at a regional youth detention center.

Johnson said that as both cases are open and active, no additional information can be released at this time.

More details will be provided as they become available.
