Alex Mathison joined the Dawson County News team as an advertising account executive in January 2019.

As advertising account executive, Mathison will be responsible for working with local  businesses on advertising campaigns and marketing programs. His role includes print and digital platform offerings for the Dawson County News and its sister newspapers, The Times and Forsyth County News.

“We are excited to welcome someone of Alex’s caliber to our team at the Dawson County News,” said General Manager Brenda Bohn. “Alex brings to the role a strong background in sales and commitment to the customer experience. As a resident of Dawson, he is eager to get involved in the community and help local businesses grow and thrive.”

Mathison, 30, has six years of advertising experience having previously worked for a marketing company in Alpharetta.

He is a 2012 graduate of Georgia Southern with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and has worked in marketing and sales ever since.

Originally from Waycross in south Georgia, Mathison has called Dawson County home for the past two and a half years.

He is married to Brooke and has two dogs, Chipper and Sadie.

“I’m really excited to be a part of this community,” Mathison said. “I hope that I am able to help everyone out and help the community succeed.”
