Dawson County Fire & Emergency Services announced on Friday that Lieutenant Chris Archer has successfully completed the basic Law Enforcement certification program.
The program was conducted by the Georgia Public Safety Training Academy in Pickens County. It is a 12 week program consisting of mental and physical training.
Lt. Archer completed basic firearms training, emergency vehicle operations, Federal and State law, defensive tactics, as well as various other classroom and field-based lessons.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the hard work Lt. Archer has put into this class,” Fire Chief Danny Thompson said.
With this added certification, Lt. Archer will become the primary Arson Investigator for the county. He is currently is assigned as an Inspector and certified Plan Reviewer. He also continues to maintain his EMT-A certification and firefighter here in Dawson County.
