Hwy. 52 roundabout

Traffic on Hwy. 52 toward Amicalola Falls will be impacted by lane closures and directed by flagging operators starting Monday, Oct. 8.

According to a release from the Georgia Department of Transportation, the traffic direction will allow construction crews to finish constructing a cross drain under the roadway.

The work is associated with the roundabout being built at the intersection of Hwy. 183 and Hwy. 52. The release states work will continue daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The roundabout was awarded to Baldwin Paving Inc. in Fall 2017 and has a scheduled completion  May 2020.

The roundabout will increase safety and traffic flow. For more information on how roundabouts are a solution for safety and capacity visit the GDOT website: www.dot.ga.gov/DS/SafetyOperation/Roundabouts
